Las Vegas sparks strong opinions, but as an LGBTQ traveler, I’ve found joy in the in-between. It’s not my favorite destination, yet I’ve had amazing experiences both on and off the Strip. The key? Focus on what excites you—like drag shows, LGBTQ bars, or chill pool days—and skip what doesn’t.

Quick Take: Orange County (but not Disney)

While Anaheim is best known for Disneyland, I found plenty to enjoy beyond the parks. With sunshine, local flavor, and queer-friendly spots, Orange County surprised me—in good ways. Sometimes, tagging along on a work trip leads to unexpected adventures.
